| What exactly is a RSS feed.
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication
and it's use is increasing across the internet as a way to send news
and information. RSS uses an XML, Extensible Markup Language, format page to set up the
information and a special RSS news reader or XML news reader decodes
the news for your review. The news reader operates similar to a
Favorites list in a web browser except that instead of you going to
a web page the news reader automatically goes and retrieves the
updated XML page for you. With most news readers you can add as many
RSS sites as you want to. Some software will allow you to
read a RSS news feed on your cell phone or PDA. |
| Some of the features of RSS in
comparison to e-mail is that there is no address list, the
subscription is in your news reader. You can add and subtract as
many channels (sites) as you want at any time. And depending on the
settings of your reader you can be updated to check anywhere from a few
minutes apart to once a day or even longer. |
 |
Sites that have a
RSS news service will generally have one of the two orange
graphics shown to the left. This should have the information
about subscribing to their news. |
 |
|
| Reelscene.Com will use a
RSS 2.0 specification for it's RSS feed. It has been tested with Amphetadesk News Reader. There are other news readers available to
chose from, just check to make sure it is compatible with your
Operating System. |

riot and several Ranger cars were overturned and
set ablaze.
New binoculars
tested Many new binoculars are
advertised as being nitrogen filled. Do they
really reduce the condensation or is it a gimmick.
Our Birdwatching team takes to the pre-dawn field
to test them. Read the results here. |

Theft
of salamander crossing signs
Yet another theft of salamander crossing signs
along the road. Police speculate that this series
of thefts is the work of an Asian salamander ring
trafficking in illicit salamander goods. Federal
officials are looking into a connection between
the thefts and overseas terrorist groups that plot
to destabilize the city government and to
instigate civil unrest.
Salamander
population declines A recent
survey shows that the salamander population has
declined within the last year. Surveyors refer to
the 'squish data' collected of salamanders run
over while attempting to cross the road. Local
apartment and condo owners cite the reason for the
decline as being a poor habitat of mud, slime,
moss and no indoor plumbing nor basic cable
service. |

UCM
lobbies State Legislators
-Montgomery, Ala.- Union of Costume Mothers
officials continued in their lobbying efforts to
pass a bill to improve their working conditions.
Union leaders claim that their members are subject
to little or no pay, long overtime hours, numerous
on the job injuries, capricious management
decisions and an indifferent clientele.
Legislators said they would begin the bill review
process after they figure out a way to work around the State Constitution.
Local production
jeopardized A Cleburne County
junior high school theatrical production was
severely jeopardize when the lone costume mother
collapsed from the rigors of the job. The
overworked mother was hospitalized with a
combination of physical injuries, including an
uncounted number of pinpricks in her fingers, and
emotional exhaustion suffered from the constant
berating from parents and school staff. With the
lost of such a key position the cast of 7th and
8th grade students had to perform "Anne Of A
Thousand Days" while clad in threadbare jeans
and t-shirts decorated with Nike logos. |
