Highlights of the August 12, AIVF Jefferson County Salon meeting
 
Trailers watched were a promo for the new "Battlestar Galactica" currently in production for the Sci-Fi Channel and a trailer for "Everything Unspoken".
 
Some discussion about some of the National AIVF issues and concerns from when Salon Jim Brucke visited the national AIVF offices in New York City. Some discussion about tax breaks for the film industry in the state. Some discussion about a film school. Some discussion about editing software. Some discussion about possible TV shows being made here.

The next meeting of the Script Development Workshop will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 16 at Books & Company in Brookwood Village. The meeting generally last about two hours. Bring your script and discuss it with like minded peers.

AIVF SCREENWRITER MENTORSHIP 2004

The AIVF Screenwriter Mentorship program is aimed to give independent screenwriters, writer-producers, and writer-directors an opportunity to develop their scripts.  Over a four-month period, participants will receive
professional industry story notes, consultations and script coaching, as well as peer support and feedback. The AIVF Screenwriter Mentorship seeks writers who are actively working on a screenplay they intend to have produced or marketed.

Another Remake
 
While a production company plans to go out west to one of our gorgeous desert states to film, photos from the set location of an isolated desert town (from anonymous sources) shows it's actually a remake of a well known movie redone with a cheesy title and a schlocky plot gimmick, can't they leave the classics alone.
