Independent Television Service (ITVS) Open

ITVS is looking for single public television programs on any subject,
viewpoint or style. ITVS funds programs that bring new audiences to public
television and expand civic participation by bringing diverse voices into
the
public sphere.
ITVS funds and presents programs specifically designed for public
television. They look to work with passionate, talented producers who tell
stories - both true and fictional - that use television as the best possible
medium to reach audiences often overlooked by conventional programming. For more

Carole Fielding Student Grants

1, 2005
The University Film and Video Association sponsors the annual Carole
Fielding Student Grants competition. Awards of up to $4,000 are made for
student productions in five categories: narrative, documentary, animation,
experimental, and new-media. Up to $1,000 is awarded for research projects
in historical, critical or theoretical studies of film and television.
Applicants must be a student (undergraduate or graduate) at the time the
application is made. A faculty member, who is an active member of the UFVA or a
UFVA member institution, must sponsor the project. Grant winners are required to
present completed work at a UFVA Conference. Deadline for completed

Pacific Islanders In Communication (PIC) Open Call &
Media Fund

PIC is a national nonprofit media organization established primarily for
the purpose of increasing national public broadcast programming by and about
indigenous Pacific Islanders. PIC provides funding support for productions,
training and education, broadcast services, and community outreach. The Media
Fund sparks the development of Pacific Islander programming for national public
television.
It is comprised of the following programs: Open Call, an annual call that
invites proposals for television projects in all stages of production;
Completion Fund, that is designed to quickly respond to urgent post-production
needs; Short Term Initiative, that encourages and builds narrative storytelling;
Travel Awards, to support producers; Professional Development; Acquisitions; and

IFP Los Angeles Producers Lab

An intensive seven-week program held each autumn designed to help
filmmakers develop skills as creative independent producers. During the lab,
participants develop a strategy and formal action plan for bringing their
projects to fruition, including a budget, schedule, and business plan.
Lab participants also meet with professional advisors and receive a
complimentary pass to IFP/Los Angeles' Producer Series, which runs concurrently.
Past Producers Lab instructors include Effie Brown (IN THE CUT), Eric d'Arbeloff
(LOVELY & AMAZING), Matthew Greenfield (THE GOOD GIRL, CHUCK AND BUCK) and

Roy W. Dean Film and Video Grants for Writing and
Editing

The Roy W. Dean Writing Grant will send a writer to New Zealand to write
their screenplay, film, or whatever they prefer in a quiet villa style country
Wye Cottage surrounded by beauty and thousands of sheep. They will
be
connected to the world with their new computer, fax, and phone and have a nice
RUV to run around the south island.
The Roy W. Dean Film Editing Grant is gives support for an off-line edit. A
New Zealand filmmaker has donated his editing suite and his expertise to help a
filmmaker create their first draft. The grant recipient will stay in a Wye
Cottage created for filmmakers and enjoy New Zealand as they create their film.
