From recent news dated March 31, 2004, Senate Bill 150 http://reelscene.com/law/sb150prop1.html
is out of committee and headed for a vote. SB 150 allows the
establishment of an economic enterprise zone for movie production
in (specifically) Shelby County. The set up would also allow for other
counties to do the same. Still in committee, SB 84 http://reelscene.com/law/sb84prop1.html
and SB 366 http://reelscene.com/law/sb366prop1.html

SO ATLANTA!: Artists Respond to the
Contemporary City.
IMAGE Film & Video in collaboration with The Atlanta
Contemporary Art Center will be celebrating the arts in Atlanta. An artist’s
view of living and working in Atlanta, 'So Atlanta!' explores how artists have
contributed to the culture and image of the city just as the city has shaped
them. Local guest speaker: Jacob Gentry - Writer/director of "The Last
Goodbye".
The next meeting of the AIVF Rochester Salon will be
7:00 p.m. Wednesday April 7 at VSW. Erick will show his "Hispanic
Collage". Also to be screened, the January Lo-Film shoot, the March Lo-Film
shoot and Liz will inflict on everyone the latest version of her trailer. Come
early and see The Dance On Camera fest in the
auditorium.
Slit-Scan from 2001: A Space Odyssey
may sound kind odd but the results for the 'stargate'
effects were ground breaking. Now with computers effects like in
"Solaris" are the new high ground. You can go to Richard
Baily's digital FX web site http://imagesavant.com for
some ethereal still images and equally beautiful Quicktime
movies.
