News & General Announcements  http://www.reelscene.com/news/newsindex.html

Filmmakers in the State of Georgia are pushing for a new incentives package legislation for the 2004 Georgia General Assembly. It might be worth keeping an eye on when we talk with our Alabama Legislature for any film incentive packages for our State.

From IMAGE in Atlanta, Georgia, excerpt-

As you know, competition for production dollars is more intense than ever. The need for the State of Georgia to pass Incentive Legislation to secure the future of our core businesses and crew base is paramount. It is for this express purpose that EDGE - Economic Development through Georgia Entertainment - was established by the Georgia Production Partnership and IATSE Local 479.

Working together with the Georgia Film, Video & Music Office and friends of the industry, we have been hard at work developing a bill that will be formally presented to the 2004 Georgia General Assembly in the coming weeks.

Details at the News & General Announcements page linked above.

More Disney Corp. news

More troubles for Disney Corp. Now the creator of 'Roger Rabbit', Gary Wolfe, will be heading to court over non-payment of royalties from Disney. Click below for a Reuters article

This case follows after disputes from the estate of A.A Milne over non-payment from Winnie-the-Pooh royalties and estate holder of the 'Peter Pan' rights for non-payment over the recently released live action version of "Peter Pan"

To add to Disney's woes, Pixar will be ending their distribution deal with Disney and not only for the next two upcoming movies but may seek to have five previously released titles returned to their control.

This compounds the recent disputes that Roy Disney has with Michael Eisner and the recent termination of all traditional 2D animation at the Disney Studios. Dissatisfaction and disapproval has been world wide as highlighted by this fan based comic "Stukas Over Disneyland"
http://deko.apshram.net/english/bd/stukas/s01.htm  (Editor's note:This parody involving Tintin and Mickey are in French, some of the dialogue and situations portrayed may be for mature readers.)
