Ezine Number 10, July 22, 2002

From the Ezine Editor

I've gotten some feedback about the way the Ezine opens on AOL. Some have said that the pictures or graphics appear in odd places on the page. That is just a problem with AOL and their technical standard. There's nothing I can do about it. I do have TEXT ONLY mailing list I can put you on if you think that may help. Just e-mail me back and I'll switch you. As for AOL, I've read some news items where they're close to bankruptcy so that may be telling of something.

If anyone has a film project they would like to announce or need help with, e-mail me and I'll put your information in the Ezine. aivfbham@bellsouth.net

In upcoming issues of the Ezine, tales of the 'Black Widow'.

"The Business of Acting" Seminar August 10, 2002

THE BUSINESS OF ACTING SEMINAR
Presented by Magic City Films
August 10, 2002
9:00am - 2:00pm

As an actor or aspiring actor, you must treat your career as a business and as an art. In doing so, you must treat yourself as a salesperson and a commodity. Finding a way to mix all of these things in a complete package is what makes you a professional and distinguishes you from all the rest.

This seminar is for actors, from beginners to the most experienced, and for those who are just curious about acting in general. It is being led by an experienced and working director/producer who also happens to be a union (AFTRA/SAG) actor. We will cover a multitude of topics, which include how to get started, what to expect, how to get paid, how to maximize your career, acting as a hobby (part-time) vs. acting as a career, working in the South (Atlanta, Birmingham) vs. moving to New York, Los Angeles or Miami, agents and casting directors, audition preparation, and much more.

This all day seminar to be held on August 10, 2002 from 9:00am to 2:00pm, will include the following:

1. A Professional Actor's Notebook. This notebook includes information on headshots and resumes, talent agencies, classes, photographers, business expenses, marketing tools, goal setting, film companies and more.
2. A 30-minute one-on-one career consultation (normally $100) to be scheduled for a later date.
3. Free lunch, drinks and snacks.
4. A Magic City Films T-Shirt.

Each attendee will also be allowed to leave a headshot, resume, and demo reel for consideration for Magic City Films' upcoming film and future projects.
