Shirley Crumley , casting director dies at the age of 53.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.

Shirley Crumley, long time casting director died April 4 of a massive heart attack in the driveway of her home. She was 53 years old. Mrs.Crumley started as her casting career with the TV mini series "Roots" and went on for over 30 years to work on productions such as "The Double McGuffin", "Kent State", "The River", "Dead Poet's Society", "The Last Of The Mohicans", "Cobb", "The Patroit", "Walk The Line" In 2005 she worked on the Will Ferrell racing comedy movie "Talladega Nights, The Ballad of Ricky Bobby", her last movie. A memorial service was held 2 pm Saturday April 8, 2006 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Birmingham, Alabama. Shirley Crumley was cremated and her ashes placed into a bust of John Lennon that she got from a movie set.
