Ala. Magic City Films, a local production company, has completed principal
photography on its most recent major project, "Camp
D.O.A", an urban-horror film.
Post-production of the film will commence in late March.
After a national search garnering talent from Alabama,
Georgia, Washington D.C, New York and Los Angeles, a talented
cast was assembled. This project includes many industry
talents such as Christopher Jones from "All My
Children" and America's Sexiest Male and Eric
Dellums from "The Wire", "Homicide",
and "NYPD Blue".
"This was a very aggressive film shoot. We dealt with
extreme temperatures over a short period of time with lots of
shots. Our actors and crew are to be commended. We had a great
cast and crew", said Earl Hilliard, Jr., president and
founder of Magic City Films.
The company's most recent project, "Camp
DOA", is the tale of Devon Southern and his
college friends who plan a wild weekend at the Southern
family's remote mountain retreat. Set to have the time of
their lives, Devon and his friends are unaware that an
unspeakable murderous evil has been awakened and is stalking
them. One by one, Devon's friends die at the hands of the
relentless, living darkness. With most of his friends dead and
with no hope of escape, Devon must somehow survive the night
and stop his supernatural foe.
Earl Hilliard, Jr., president and founder of Magic City Films,
recently directed the drama "Under the
Influence", a heartfelt and thought-provoking
drama that was met with rave reviews and received widespread
